It was only months later he decided to chance the sands and see if he could follow in his parents footsteps to become a rider. It was his second time on the sands that he impressed a smoky blue dragon. Mer'ad enjoyed the learning process of shifting from just a healer to a rider and the help that his healer training offered. The pair within a year of graduating weyrlinghood started to assist with the weyrlings at Telgar. Word spread of a weyr growing in the southern continent and curiousity tugged at Mer'ad and Chareliath. Requesting a transfer it took time but it was everntually granted.
