DreamKeepers Clutch - FairytalesHatching 30 August 2015 Pern date 8.25.8.30 Burning Sands EggBronze Primith - OlivarPrimith is the type of bronze Harpers tell stories about, or at least he looks like one. Large, muscular, with a deep gleaming hide he seems to be perfect example of what a bronze should be. And he knows it. Even as a Hatchling he will be well aware that he is a bronze and will carry himself with pride. Based on Cinderella's Prince (Into the Woods) The Darkly Dazzling EggJust what sort of dragon is being held within this lovely, yet ominous egg? Green Reginath - AsulaFrom the very moment that she steps out of her egg, Reginath will be the picture of beauty, of grace, of elegance, of all things that a green ought to be. And she’ll hold herself in a way that shows that she is very much aware of her own perfection. Based on Evil Queen (Snow White) The You Can't See Me EggGreen Faladath - LyasineWhen Faladath steps out of her egg, the first thing that happens is that she begins giving advice to the rest of the hatchlings, be they bronze, brown, blue, or green like herself. She'll start this trend by telling them who they should Impress (and the funny thing is, she's right about 80% of the time.) When she Impresses, she'll try to find the most timid and unprepossessing Candidate about, so she can help them grow. She's just that kind of dragon. Based on Falada (The Goose Girl) In A Puff Of Smoke EggGet closer though, and that boring shell does interesting things to your eyes. Like smoke the grey shifts and moves inside the shell, constantly seeming to look for a crack to escape through. It is as though somehow a fire were lit in there and the egg filled with smoke but now there is no way for it to get out. Blue Jenyth - DyrinaJenyth's egg was smoky, and when he learns to flame that too will involve a lot of smoke. It won't bother him, but his rider had best get used to peering through a cloud when fighting Fall. Based on Genie Stare Into The Blue EggBlue Fephumith - RoskStraight from the egg, Fephumith is a large, dark, Capri-sky blue. As he grows, he will go through a gangly, all limbs stage. It will not be until he is about two an a half to three turns of age that he will bulk up to a nicely muscled blue. He will not have the thick muscle of a brown, however he will be more muscular the most blues. He will also be one of the largest blues in the Weyr, pushing the limits in size for blues. Based on Giant from Jack and the Beanstalk The Blood Drop EggThe question is, what kind of dragon could possibly come out of a terrible egg like this? Is it fair to judge a dragon by its shell? Bronze Kilgiath - EyldralKilgiath is a robust but pint sized coppery hued bronze, strong and stocky from the very moment he hatched, even if he does fall into the smaller end of the bronze spectrum. Size doesn't matter after all, and he'll be eager to show that he can keep up to the bigger bronzes. No! His plan is to surpass the bigger bronzes one day, even if it means working his wings and his lifemates fingers to the bone. Based on Jack the Giant Killer Swirling Sea EggPerhaps there is a storm starting to brew and as any sailor can tell you, being caught in a storm in the middle of the sea can be a dangerous thing. Blue Notirth - TasivorNotirth will only be an averaged size blue, but he was built for strength and stamina, not speed or agility and his bulkier build will make him look larger than he really is. Despite the majority of his body being quite muscular, his hind legs are a fair bit less muscular and it will noticeably hinder him while he is walking on land, though it doesn’t affect him while in the air. Based on King Triton (The Little Mermaid) I Just Want to Cuddle EggStill, there is something warm and inviting about this egg, something that stirs fond childhood memories - a well-loved plushie, or perhaps a first pet. You can put your trust in me, the egg seems to say. I’ll never let you down. Brown Felith - RenysFelith will be a small brown, barely larger than a good sized blue when he’s full grown, with a slender build. Words like ‘dainty’ and ‘delicate’ come to mind when looking at him, somewhat to his displeasure. Still, it would be a mistake to underestimate him. His frame is lined with lean, lanky muscles. He’ll be capable of surprising feats of agility in the air, the match of any blue or green. Though, due to his diminutive frame, he’ll have trouble staying the entirety of fall. Based on Puss in Boots Lost In Shadow EggBut you might not realize it until its already drawn you in. The strong golden-bronze swirls are more than enough to catch the eye and lure someone with the promise of treasure, heart’s desire, maybe even a tasty bit of valuable information. The shell boasts plenty for the taking, but there’s darkness hidden at the edges, under the surface. Be careful of what you ask for, because this egg never forgets. Bronze Kiskinth - HuckleyNot very large for a bronze, Kiskinth is lean and wiry. This is a dragon that is built for agility and evasive maneuvers more than stamina and strength. He’s very angular and sharp, with a longer than average body that is carried low to the ground on somewhat short and stocky legs. The base shade of his colouring is very dark, almost a grimy sort of shadowy bronze. However there are layers on top of this that are bright and glittering bronzes with hints of what looks like golden flecks covering the upper half of him. In the right light he can be stunningly beautiful, while in the shadows there’s a certain malevolent aura that makes itself known. Based on Rumplestiltskin Sand Covered EggCertainly, it’s an easy egg to overlook, but remember - sometimes the greatest of treasures can be found in the most unprepossessing of packagings. Green Shahrath - DahrentShahrath is a daintily built green, and slender, and thus may be perceived as smaller than she actually is. In truth, Shahrath comes in just slightly above average in the spectrum of green sizes. Her hide is a deep green, with tinges of olive that show up most prominently under direct sunlight. The coloring is even throughout, save for a small patch of lighter green across her muzzle, resembling a veil drawn across her face. Based on Scheherazade Special Snowflake EggThe Special Snowflake egg is an egg which seems to chill the bone- though the colours themselves aren't foreboding. In fact the blues of this egg are kind of like water, yes water- and not the bone chilling coldness of an icy lake. Those markings? Surely they are stars and not snowflakes, right? It surely isn't going to freeze you should you touch it. No, it is warm and slightly rough, just like every other egg. Still, use your imagination candidate, have faith that this egg surely holds something warm, and not cold and heartless. Perhaps it is the sum of all your dreams- or perhaps it holds nothing, a cold, dead egg meant only to break hearts. What shall it hold, bronze or brown, or blue or green? Only on hatching day will you find out. Green Shneeketh - ShyanaShneeketh will always tend to keep that lanky, not quite adult look- from the time she cracks her shell, till she is old and grey. Her colouring requires a second glance- because at first she seems mostly without color. She does however have colour, as faint as it is however. Her green hide is the pales of pale greens- a color which on earth would have been called celedon. This pale colour is only broken up by a patterning in various shades of green across her wingsails that are reminiscent of embroidered flowers. Based on Snegurochka The Gently Sleeping EggBlue Niwalth - NaylenaThis dainty little blue isn’t just beautiful, its almost as if there’s something ethereal about how lovely he is. Niwalth is a very pale creature, almost like the colour of fresh snow with an icy blue hue to it and he’s positively radiant in the sun. He’s rather petite for his size, but nearly perfect in conformation, though perhaps a little more sleek than is normal for a blue. He’ll be quick and agile with the grace and elegance of a the smaller females. Truly he’s an amazing specimen of his colour, sure to turn heads wherever he goes. Based on Snow White The Shiny Treasures EggBlue Daughth - ElloraDaughth is not an impressive specimen of dragonkind. He is always going to be small, even for a blue, and has a squat build. His hide is rather dull in color. He doesn't look sickly, just... plain. Based on Snow White and Rose Red The Stay With Me EggGreen Petcadooth - CiaraA dragon with green wool? Of course not, but Petcadooth's hide would remind a beastcrafter of a sheep's wool coat, but only if the sheep was bathed in grass green dye, and like a sheep, the wool appearance disappears into a smooth green on her face and muzzle. Petcadooth's size and build are the embodiment of an average green dragon. Everything is in proportion on her and she is a very feminine green. Average is not bad though because this green will do well in agility, thread flaming, speed, and accuracy, especially when she feels confidently prepared. Based on Swedish Folktales "Queen Cadoola" A Moonlit Night EggGreen Mizukith - SicydaMizukith is a tiny green to start but exquisitely beautiful to behold. She truly is a stunning creature with a light bamboo green hide that almost seems to radiate with a soft glow almost like a light wherever she goes even at her most dirty her hide will never seem to stop having this soft glow about it. Even at night her hide will still seem to be softly glowing and it will be very hard for anyone to tell when she is going to rise because her hide will always seem to have this glow about it. Although small to start she will grow rapidly more rapidly than most other greens but even at her full growth she will still be on the small scale. Her body is very lithe and lean perfectly suited for agility and speed but greatly disadvantaged in stamina. Still one couldn’t ask for a green more perfect in proportion from tip to tail nothing out of place. There honestly seems to be no flaws to this breath taking green and she seems to almost make other greens pale in comparison to her without ever trying. And it is in fact true no matter how old she gets she will always somehow seem to make other greens around her seem imperfect by comparison. Based on The Bamboo Cutter and the Moon Child Bright Reflective EggGreen Kyuuth - RadkinKyuuth will probably grow up to be a medium sized green. Her head and body are sleek, with a somewhat thicker tail. She is mostly a light green color though the color darkens considerably at the end of her legs, muzzle and head knobs. In contrast, the end of her tail actually becomes abruptly lighter at the end of her tail. Based on The Fox (The Lion and the Fox) The Light-Hearted EggWhich should be terrifying, but it is not. Instead, the light in the Hatching Chamber appears to catch on the shell, reflecting to 'burn away' any darkness around it. The colors blend into each other with a sort of shimmer, inviting the viewer to drop whatever they are doing to come closer and listen and share in its joy. It will hatch soon, and its brothers and sisters with it. And then they will fly away to do what needs to be done and to find their own stories to tell and sing. Blue Jungenuth - NahlendAt hatching, Jungenuth is a smaller blue with a skinny or underfed look to him and longer-seeming limbs. After a few months, he will grow into his legs and even though he remains a smaller blue, he will turn out to be a surprisingly good, strong flyer. Based on The Juniper Tree The Egg of Air and WaterBlue Lagobelth - LyseleWhen the Egg of Air and Water Hatches Blue Lagobelth, he will seem to almost float out of the egg. Then, as he walks, he walks more in hops. He’ll take a few steps, then hop – but his hops don’t take him so much up as across. Oddly enough, this makes him quite fast. His coloring matches his egg almost exactly – he looks to be made from air and water, which, while on the ground is fine but as he begins to fly it could be a problem for the Weyrlingmaster, since he will almost disappear into the sky. There will be days that he is quite hard to see. Based on The Light Princess The Pretty Red EggGreen Rehenth - EmrayRehenth Is a smallish green with a stocky, compact little body and a bright peridot hide. She's serious and industrious for her colour, a hard working little thing and she is proud, very smugly proud of that fact. She'll eye flightier, sillier greens with a jaundiced eye, and will make no secret of her disapproval. Based on The Little Red Hen The Distinctly Shadowy EggEggs don't think they're better than anyone. Right? And they certainly can't outwit anyone, no matter how well they seem to blend into the shadows. Swirling with inky blackness, it's not hard to believe that a Harper dumped a bucketful of ink over the egg. So why hasn't it dried yet? Brown Masteth - KelkinDashing and rather cavalier, there is something unmistakably charming about Masteth. You can't help but be amused by his antics, all the worse for his Rider if they challenged him to a game of wits. His audience will be surprised, if not amazed at how resourceful Masteth can prove to be, especially if it means proving himself right. His antics will likely be the bane of his Rider's existence but very little will convince the brown to do otherwise when a plan is afoot and a goal is in sight. Based on The Master Thief The Still As Stone EggBronze Sunwuth - AsterSunwuth’s hide contains exactly 72 distinct shades of bronze, blended together in a dizzying mishmash of patterns and patches. He’s on the small side for a dragon of his color, but lanky and long of limb, wing, and tail, all of which will contribute giving him a surprising amount of agility in the air. Based on The Monkey King (Sun WuKong) The Perfect Little Pea EggFond of vegetables or not, almost anyone can agree that this is a pleasant little egg, a calm little thing that seems to whisper happy memories of spring, and the good cheer that can be found at the supper table. Its a cute egg, and its easy to expect it to produce an equally cute dragonet come hatching day. Green Prinpeth - AkieraShe’s so pretty! And little! And easily breakable, to be honest. Prinpeth is a petite green with delightful patches of shades of green, ranging from bright to dark, covering her hide. While small, there is something regal about her. Left to her own devices, she is rather graceful. Based on The Princess and the Pea The Plush Plumage EggIt might seem like a cold egg to some, but there is nothing cruel about it. It holds the promise of warmth within its shell, a welcome to whoever the hatchling within is destined for. Brown Sixanth - KaswayIf someone could envision the perfect brown, they may have envisioned one that looks very much like Sixanth. He isn’t overly large, but promises to be an impressive specimen once he reaches his full size. His hide is a deep, dark brown and almost completely uniform, with only the occasional lighter patch across his belly. His wings are perhaps his only unusual feature. They seem rather delicate and much larger than his frame should allow. They are the first thing that will attract greens, and maybe the naive gold, to sun with this male. Based on The Six Swans The Molten Heart EggYou know it can't be molten metal, red and orange and glowing. You know it's just an egg, but it looks so hot. It might be ferocious, terrifying even if it weren't for the fact that when you look at it, you can't help but feel so sad. Blue Steddath - ArenlorAlthough a blue could never be described as 'metallic' or 'shiny', Steddath will roll out of his egg the bright, incandescent blue of tempered metal. Any forge worker worth his salt will recognise the shade of 'bluing' and will likely be fascinated by the young dragonet. Based on The Tin Soldier - Hans Christian Anderson's 'The Steadfast Tin Soldier' Red Plaid EggThis egg practically begs for someone to come touch it or even perhaps snuggle up close to it. It seems to emanate a calm sense of pride, even happiness, that may draw the attention of the viewer. Who ever said that eggs can't have emotions? Common sense? Eggs can't have emotions- or can they? Blue Wurdoth - SyuvaWurdoth will hatch a large, bulky blue. He'll likely remain that way, keeping his larger size all the way to adulthood. He won't ever be a slender blue; his larger size and stocky frame will see to that, though he'll definitely be muscular as he grows into his full size. His wings with be both wider and longer than average, to better support his larger bulk in flight. Based on The Woodcutter Caged Yellow EggBrown Gippeth - KinoldGippeth will probably never be the most handsome brown to ever hatch, but that doesn't mean he's without good qualities. His neck and tail are a little short and his body is stocky and strong, thickened by strong back, shoulder and wing muscles. His hide is a reddish-brown, the color of bricks, being lighter around the the tips of his wings and nose. Based on Third Little Piggy (Three Little Piggies) The Constant Stone EggBrown Jontruth - OrkinJontruth may not be much to look at when he emerges from his shell, but he doesn't seem to mind. Fairly average in appearance, his hide is the color of stone. Given his quiet nature, he might easily be the sort who will blend into the background, even once he grows into the well-muscled brown he will be as an adult. His movements are slow and measured, and when he flies, he will be steady, with plenty of endurance to last during a Fall. Based on Trusty John Tangled In Green EggBut then there is the pink, rosy and light, falling on the tangled greens like kisses on a mother's cheeks. Greens are practical, greens are nutritious, but maybe there can be beauty here too. Green Rampioth - ItaiaRampioth's hide is a fresh spring green, the colour of young things starting to grow. And from the first time she sees a seedling and asks what it is, Rampioth will be fascinated by young plants growing and delighted by them. If her lifemate should have had the urge to garden he or she will be cheered on.
