XylanCharacter type: Candidate Appearance: Xylan’s parents were both beautiful people, so it stands to reason they would have beautiful babies and this holds very true for Xylan. She is a tall, slender woman that inherited the dark, haughty features from her father, including his nearly black eyes. She stands at 5’10 with the porcelain skin of her mother and though she’s not a largely curvaceous woman, her body is kept fit and healthy and is certainly desirable. She rarely cuts her thick black hair so it hangs perfectly straight down her back nearly to her buttocks. She has to keep it tied back of course, but she always has a creative way of knotting it about her head. Everything about appearances and she doesn’t dare let her looks falter even when she’s going about her duties as a candidate. Personality: Xylan doesn’t just think she is better than everyone, she *knows* it. She’s not a friendly person, nor does she make effort to pretend. She will be slightly warmer to friends of hers, though they are few and far between. Not because she doesn’t occasionally crave companionship, but because nobody is good enough. Blood means everything at Fort and that’s a philosophy she holds close to her heart. Only those with good breeding and strong Fortian lines are those that her worth her time, everyone else is treated like the garbage that they are. History: Yanang and Alisox were unusual for Fort as they were completely committed to each other. After Alisox died giving birth to her older brother is was surprising that Yanang took other lovers. Perhaps it was his way of hiding his pain, but he never committed to anyone. Xylan was born to an upstanding Fort woman and was visited frequently by her father. At least until he impressed his bronze and went into training. She was only three when a tragic accident took Y'nan's life. She and her brother were never exactly best of friends, neither being the loving and nurturing type, but they looked after each other after this strong man was taken from their lives. Xylan entered candidacy at fifteen and quickly worked her way up the pecking order of girls. She refused to stand for anything but gold and went out of her way to make the lives miserable of those that did. Though she's been standing for six turns now, she's only started to get a little impatient. Her gold will come, its only a matter of time. Meanwhile she warms the beds of notable bronze riders for protection and of course, for personal enjoyment. Xylan is a candidate.
