Name Pronounced: Ooh-Lah-nee
Appearance: Standing at approximately 5’4” there is a softness to Ulani’s outline that gives the impression that someone has stuck her with a straw and ever so slightly inflated her. Although she is more athletic than overly voluptuous, from the soft swell of chest to hips she is definitely and comfortably female. Time spent swimming both before and after Impressing has given her toned legs and arms and an impressive core strength that certainly comes in handy when it’s time to maneuver around her Blue. Her dress sense only enhances her femininity, often seen in swirling layered skirts and dresses of bright colours and patterns, much preferring the light materials over heavy trousers or Rider’s jackets.
Personality: Although deeply loyal to her family and keenly aware of the need to act “for the greater good”, Ulani does have a degree of a rebellious streak and can struggle to let things go, especially if she’s convinced that it’s the right thing to do. She possesses a sharp intelligence and stubborn streak a mile wide which can give her the fortitude to push forward, even if it seems as though the odds are against her. However many would consider this stubbornness to be reckless as Ulani can dismiss concerns for her safety as pointless over-fussing when she’s gotten an idea stuck in her head about what she should be doing.
History: Birthing Day: 8.06.6.14
Information about Ulani's pets
Pet Name: Kakahi
Pet Type: Bronze Firelizard
Appearance: Despite being a lovely shade of bright and vibrant bronze with reddish hues over the top of his head and tail, Kakahi is a little scrawny and almost bug-eyed to look at. He’s about average in terms of size for a wild bronze, certainly nothing exceptional to look at. He’s rather gawky and more than a little clumsy as well which certainly doesn’t help matters. His saving grace is a sharp turn of speed in the air and a cacophonous call which certainly comes in handy for announcing he’s brought you a message.
Personality: Training Kakahi was… not the easiest job in the world. It wasn’t even because he was too interested in the girls to pay attention. He’s just… not the brightest glow in the basket at times and that’s not even being cruel. That’s not to say that he doesn’t have the potential to have a modicum of intelligence, especially if there’s the promise of food after - although he does have a tendency to miss. And eat pebbles. And anything else in the way. He can however have a tendency to be highly annoying, just because he doesn’t always realise he’s being told to go away. That aside, he certainly won’t be leaving Ulani’s side any time soon and would probably follow her to the ends of the earth. Even if he gets locked in by accident.
Information about Ulani's dragon
Dragon Name: Mauith
Wing (Weyrling Group): Firedance
Appearance: Name pronounced MOW-ith. A massive, broad shouldered slab of blue muscle, everything about Mauith at first glance screams pure brawny strength. Toned and chiselled, Mauith is a blue that outstrips many of his peers and sits comfortably in the bottom tier of browns. And he is proud of it and then some. He provides an amusing contrast to his more diminutive Rider when they’re standing nose to nose in a stubborn match of wits but less amusing for her when all he wants to do is show off his strength and “good looks”. He’s definitely a handsome blue, if you could attribute such a characteristic to a dragon and nearly every time you see him he will certainly be posing to impress, well, whoever might be looking his way.
Personality: A prankster through and through, Mauith is ego, ego and a bit more ego in between. If it weren’t for his affable and mischievously playful streak, it wouldn’t be hard to imagine he might have been a bronze in another lifetime. Everything is a challenge, the bigger and more outrageous the better and Mauith is more than willing to take the credit with a cheerful (( You’re welcome! )). He’s more than happy to regale anyone, whether willing or unwilling to listen, about his amazing feats - although chances are that more than one won’t be entirely the truth and more a flight of pure fantasy. Easy to come across as nothing more than vain hard-headness, it can be easy to become frustrated when he appears to completely ignore everything you’re trying to say or only appears to have his own interests at stake.
Weyr of Origin: Igen
Abilites and weaknesses: His sizeable bulk makes him much less agile but gives him the stamina to endure. His tendency to joke around and not take things seriously can cause frustration but he knows when to pull his weight. Can be a daredevil and take risks, especially if argued that they’re foolish.
