M'larCharacter type: Dragonrider Appearance: M'lar isn't the tallest of riders but he does stand at a fair height of 5'9". His skin is a medium tan in color, which doesn't burn very easily. He has short sienna brown hair that is cropped short just above his ears. Spread out across his forehead are short wispy sienna brown bangs that he often hastily brushes to the side. Arching over his eyes are two sienna brown eyebrows of medium thickness. His eyes are a light blue-grey in color that seem to reflect his calm and laid back attitude. His nose is of medium size but angular and narrow, giving it a very hawkish look. He has pale pink lips that are of medium thickness and are usually pressed into a thin line, neither smiling nor frowning. He has a small silvery-white threadscore scar upon his left cheek that is about two inches in length. His face is angular, helping to make him look a bit older than he actually is. He has slightly rounded muscular shoulders that have a fair amount of muscle to them. His medium length arms also have a fair bit of muscle, though that muscle is more compact than bulky. His fingers are slightly calloused from work when he was younger. His chest is rippled with muscle but it is also blemished by a scar. A single shallow silvery-white threadscore scar runs across the right side of his chest, though the depth of scar means it was likely just a minor wound. He has the typical smooth washboard stomach that most men have, though the slight bulge does show that he likes to indulge in sweets every once in a while. He legs are of medium length and slightly muscular, which would allow him to run at a good pace. This bluerider has a penchant for wearing leather, especially dyed leather. Personality: M'lar is no longer the prankster he once was, nor does he push the limits of rules either. He's changed a good deal since the death of his friend. He dwelled on the past and on the the death of his friend, blaming himself for not being there. However, Pacoth has helped him to realize that it isn't a healthy way to think and that there wasn't anything he could have done. In fact Pacoth has told him to stop dwelling on the past and live for the moment. M'lar soon realized the wisdom in how dragons live and he has adopted their philosophy. So now he tries his best not to look to the past and simply lives in the moment, taking things as they come. It's not easy to stop thinking about the past so he's taken up a craft to keep himself busy. He's become an apprentice smithcrafter and works on making belt knives. He spends a lot of time with Pacoth, just talking or sitting by him in silent companionship. Thanks to his dragon's encouragement he's become more social and will often talk to strangers at the dining hall. He's trying to make new friends and he encourages Pacoth to chase as often as possible. He's slowly beginning to pick up the pieces of his life and start off new. History: Morlar was born in Igen Weyr as the result of a mating flight between his mother's green Reheeth and his father's brown Saltosth. He was put into the creche at an early age and only got the occasional visit from his mother and father. That didn't bother him in the least for there were several weyrbrats to keep him company. He quickly made friends with the mischievous son of a bronzerider by the name of Vastar. His friend was very much the prankster and Morlar was very quick to follow in the footsteps of his friend. He soon became the bane of several creche workers and grew in popularity among other weyrbrats. He and Vastar were a prank pulling duo that caused no end of trouble. That was until one day they took it a little too far. A Junior Weyrwoman was visiting the creche to see her son when Morlar and Vastar decided to pull a prank on the Junior Weyrwoman. They were confident that they wouldn't get caught and that they would become even more popular if they could boast about having pulled a prank on a goldrider and having gotten away with it. Vastar's older brother happened to have a brown firelizard and as a result he also had a jar of oil for his flit. Information about M'lar's dragon Dragon Name: Pacoth Colour: Blue Age: 16 Wing (Weyrling Group): Unforgettables (Adoptables Wing) Appearance: This blue is one that is certain to stand out from the rest, though not because of size or coloration. It is his narrow and thin build that often catches attention. Light hues of sky blue slowly sweep over the thin narrow muzzle of this small dragon. His muzzle has two small slitted nostrils at the end that allow him to catch a variety of scents. The bright hues of sky blue soon flow up from his muzzle to encompass his eyeridges, which are thin and narrow with only a slight curve to them. Underneath his eyeridges are two bright whirling eyes that hold a hint of intelligence and cunning. His eyes like that of all dragons can change color depending on what sort of mood he is in. Near the back of his head are two thin sky blue head knobs, which are very narrow towards the ends. His head is wedge-shaped like that of most dragons but it seems to be more so than most. This gives his head a very narrow and aerodynamic look. His neck is of medium length and is rather slender, made up of a solid sky blue background with a single band of misty colonial blue running down the middle. His neckridges are of medium size but very narrow and have a solid coloration. His neckridges are a solid sheen of cobalt blue, contrasting greatly with the sky blue color of his neck. His shoulders are thin and narrow just like the rest of his build, although they do have some muscle to them. Pacoth's shoulders are completely sky blue in color, although his left shoulder is marred by a thin silvery-white threadscore scar that is about six inches in length. His front legs are on the thin side and are bathed in light tones of sky blue that flow all the way down to his ankles. Coiling around his ankles are two bands of bright cobalt blue, that seem to give him the appearance of wearing cuffs. Even his feet are narrow with long toes, but it is his claws that truly stand out. His claws are light sky blue in color and are a bit longer than that of most dragons, though not overly so. His sky blue belly and sides are very thin with very little distinguishing features. His wings are very long and narrow and are obviously built more for speed and agility rather than endurance flying. The tops of his wings are a solid sky blue in color, dusted with light colonial blue speckles near the trailing edges. The undersides of his wings are a bright cobalt blue in color, greatly contrasting with the top of his wings. His hind legs are just as thin as the front and are a solid sky blue in color, speckled with colonial blue spots down near the ankles. His hind feet are slightly larger than the front, each with a set of curving sky blue claws. Last but not least is his long whip-like tail, which is mainly a sky blue in color with a light misty band of colonial blue that encompasses his tail spade. Personality: Pacoth is very supportive of his rider and has been encouraging him to try new things. He is a bit of a flirt and doesn't hesitate to flirt with any green he comes across. He will often show off and do stunts just to impress a green. He's a very friendly blue that enjoys spending time with just about anyone. He misses his bronze friend but like most dragons he lives in the moment and doesn't dwell on the past. He often encourages others to live the same way. He'll often offer advice to other dragons and he tries to encourage others when they are depressed. He cares deeply for others and he doesn't like to see anyone hurt. He's rather good at sensing the emotions of others and can easily tell if someone is upset. He takes threadfall serious and usually tries his best. His speed and agility often help him to dodge dangerous patches of thread with ease. He uses that same speed and agility to try and catch greens during flights. Weyr of Origin: Igen Abilites and weaknesses: Pacoth is build aerodynamically sound and that means he can shear through the air easily with little resistance. His speed and agility can even rival that of a green. His endurance does suffer quite a bit for it though and he can easily be distracted by a pretty green.
