K'linCharacter type: Dragonrider Appearance: He has messy red-brown hair that comes down to his chin. Somewhat spiky, he usually forces it into a sort of ponytail. One lock or two usually evades his grasp and hangs over his eye, which he repeatedly brushes to the side. His eyes are a warm gray, reminding several of a stormy day, but nicer. Usually half closed; he gives himself a sort of sleepy appearance. His left eyebrow is severed in half by a white and slightly puckered scar, which he got from a fight with one of the holdbred candidates when he was younger. Making him look like rugged kind of guy. His mouth is a lopsided smile, or a grin, since he is easily amused most of the time. Medium size in height, he's not the smallest or the tallest. He is somewhat thin for a dragonrider and a little lanky. But that's okay. K'lin is usually wearing wher-hide boots, shined and black. Canvas style pants that end abruptly at the beginning of his boots. A blue vest, and white shirt with no sleeves. He is usually seen with a three-cornered leather hat and a red bandana - his trademark. Personality: K'lin was your typical weyrbrat: cocky, intelligent, has anger management issues, and wry verging on obnoxious - and proud of it. You see, weyrfolk are special, in K'lin’s eyes - they do things that no one else on Pern does. If you’re weyrbred, you understand. No one else does. Kai has a bit of a problem with Holders and the Craftbred. He just doesn't like them - they tend to be silly people who just don't truly appreciate what the Weyr does for them, and look askance at the 'immorality' of Weyr ways. At least that's what he believes, as the only Holders he's ever met personally were Candidates, and not many of those at that. He's very protective of his home, the people in it. They're his family, and he will stand up for them with great loyalty and love. If a holder is lucky enough to Impress, they're added with some reservations for a while, then wholeheartedly. If a Holder doesn't Impress and chooses to stay, K'lin assumes they’ve come around to the Weyr ways of thinking, and accepts them. Outside of that? Nope, you're not a member of his family. Thanks for asking. But here's the fun part - while K’lin sets very high standards for Holders willing to be a part of his family, he sets even higher standards for those already in it. After all, they're Weyrfolk, and should know better. History: K'lin is the son of a bluerider, H'rio, who slept with a woman from the Lower Caverns after his dragon failed to catch his lover's green. H'rio and his lover have been weyrmated most of Kai’s (Kalin was K'lin's pre-impression name but his siblings and mother called him Kai.) life, and although K'lin's mother raised him on her own along with several other children, the two riders are very much part of K'lin's life. The greenrider in particular sees him as the son he will probably never have. He grew up in the Lower Caverns, the eldest of three. Much of that time was spent minding his younger sisters and generally being underfoot – but in the last few Turns before he impressed he started making himself useful around the Weyr. He discovered that he had something of a talent for building things, and had been apprenticing with the Weyr smith. However, riding a dragon like his father had been a goal of his, and he always presented himself to the searchrider when a clutch came along. On one such time the lad was searched and then impressed his Blue Naokith. After having some problems with some of the other riders K'lin asked to transfer to Arolos. Information about K'lin's dragon Dragon Name: Naokith Colour: Blue Age: 3 1/2 turn Wing (Weyrling Group): Unforgettables (Adoptables Wing) Appearance: He has a childishly lanky look to him, and no matter how much he eats he never seems to fill out. He is the palest of blues giving him a shimmery silvery look to him, this certainly making him stand out. Here and there across his hide darker flecks play out in swirls, streaks and starbursts. The swirls, streaks and starbursts get darker towards his overly long tail. Personality: While this dragon is an excellent leader by himself with a few other chromatics as soon as a metallic enters he seems happier simply doing what he is told and giving advice now and then. He seems to simply lack the confidence he needs to continue with his fairly good leadership abilities. Of course that all changes when he is around a green, he seems to always be flirting constantly, which can get a few of them quite angry at him. He dosen't seem to mind that they get angry at him until they snap. Weyr of Origin: Ista Abilites and weaknesses: He has excellent leadership ablitties.
