Name Pronounced: huh-lon
Appearance: At first glance, you might think that H’lan stepped out of a Harper’s tale describing a bronzerider - until you catch a sight of the blue thread in his knots. Tall, only a fraction below 6ft and with powerful musculature, there is a dark and brooding look to him as though he is perpetually in thought. His dark hair is cropped short, but long enough to stand slightly in erratic spikes and bright blue eyes stare out at the world as though analysing everything. He has a tendency to not shave for a few days at a time, giving him a rougher, stubbled look. First impressions are important and you won’t ever catch him looking rumpled or stained, constantly immaculate in every way and obsessively so.
Personality: H’lan is undeniably smart, but over the years it has become corrupted with a sense of entitlement and a heavy streak of vanity. He doesn’t just think he’s better, he knows he is. He has a scornful side and those he feels are beneath him will be on the sharp end of his tongue. He knows how much work went into the careful selection of Candidates at SEF, the standards they had to prove and knows just how dragons aren’t randomly clutched, they can be carefully and selectively cultivated for the perfect people and ONLY the perfect people. He took a sizable issue with the impromptu manner in which the eggs carried forward Hatched and Impressed so randomly, more so since finding himself in bed with one of THEIR greens that Impressed to some cripple with some sort of foul disease on her feet after a flight. Disgusting. More to the point, what was that green thinking? But then greens aren’t exactly known for their smarts, are they? It went against everything he had had to do to prove himself. And niggled at an already sore point surrounding his own Impression to a *blue.*
History: Note: H'lan has been created specifically as part of a long term plot but is not intended to be a part of the game full time.
Information about H'lan (TNPC)'s pets
Pet Name: Beauty
Pet Type: Green Firelizard
Appearance: There is nothing particularly remarkable about Beauty, a fairly ordinary example of her kind, her hide the color of fresh green leaves. Neither overly large nor small, she borders on the pudgy side due to an affection for fruit, but otherwise flutters about indistinguishable from the Weyr's large population of green flits.
Personality: Beauty makes up for what she lacks in brains with love. She loves anyone and anything, especially those willing to give her treats. She's able to execute simple instructions and convey accurate imagery, but otherwise hasn't the sense to know the difference between her own eggs from shiny rocks on the ground.
Information about H'lan (TNPC)'s dragon
Dragon Name: Travath
Wing (Weyrling Group): Thunder Flame
Appearance: Travath is an example of the first steps towards gigantism that the 8th Pass dragons now have naturally. He is large for a 2nd Pass blue, more on par with one of their browns. He’s bulky too, heavy and muscular in a uniform shade of navy with splashes of cobalt across his chest or wings. His bulk gives him an aggressive power in the air, he’s not as nimble as smaller blues but he has the strength to bull-doze his way to the front of the pack.
Personality: Travath is a people-pleaser, through and through. The calm voice of reason that shyly steps up and asks “can’t we all just shake hands and be friends?”. He wants nothing more desperately than for His to accept him fully, see that he can be just as good as any bronze. So he turns a blind eye to the snappish and belligerent comments, mutely nods along to the growled remarks about his own inadequacy because he wasn’t the colour His really wanted. Surely if he just agrees, even if he helps, that will make His see that they really are meant to be.
Weyr of Origin: Fort
Abilites and weaknesses: Powerful flyer with good stamina, but size makes him less maneuverable.
