Gur'ashiName Pronounced: jur-ASH-ee Appearance: Born: Prepass. –6.1.12 Personality: Gurashi has been having a very tumultuous life. He's given to periods of deep introspection, which can lead to bouts of depression that last all of a few candlemarks. They're nothing to worry about really, but worth mentioning. He's friendly for the most part yet not overly outgoing. With the ability to soothe people, something in his kind, gentle manner promoting that, he's been labeled a healer. He would make a great healer actually he has the proper bedside manner. However he has a wanderer's soul in him and dreams of flying on the back of his own dragon someday. History: Born Kagurashi, and raised in a trader family; the Sunshine Traders, he grew up very happy and carefree really. He had to work hard but it was good work that the entire family shared in and he had to do no more than any other in his family. While at a Gather just six month ago, Gurashi fell into a well and would have died there if a sadistic man had his way. The older man, Centdem is a wild man living off the nearby land, from time to time going after those he claimed trespassed. Thinking Gurashi was trespassing he fought to keep him in the well, but sheer willpower and fear had Gurashi escaping. The 21 turn old ran wildly through the woods and stumbled upon his trader band and his Aunt Kaed who comforted him and introduced him to another in their midst, Rider Yasha . The rider had come to Search among the traders and unsurprisingly Gurashi was searched. Taken to Arolos Weyr, Gurashi has stood for his first clutch and not impressed. He stood for his second and he impressed the most wonderful blue, Kikyoth. Information about Gur'ashi's dragon Dragon Name: Kikyoth Colour: Blue Age: 8.16.1.22 Wing (Weyrling Group): Unforgettables (Adoptables Wing) Appearance: A deep, rich blue overall - the color still known as 'royal blue', though the reasons for it have been lost to time - the top of Kikyoth's head is a much paler shade, with streaks extending down his neck almost to the base. There's also a ring of darker splotches around his neck, right below his head. A mid-size blue, he nevertheless has a surprising strength, giving him great stamina while flying; unlike many blues, he'll easily be able to last an entire Fall without faltering. Unfortunately, this means that during particularly tiring conditions - high winds, a dense Thread count, etc. - he won't admit to tiring, and his rider will have to keep a close watch on his condition to make sure he doesn't overextend himself. This will also apply to Weyrling training; Kikyoth will often insist on keeping up with his larger brothers, usually to - or past - the point of exhaustion. Personality: Kikyoth scorns weakness, in both himself and others. He feels that if he can't match, or even exceed, a brown, that proves he's weak, and undeserving of being a dragon. Being strong is *everything*; with enough strength, one could destroy the Red Star itself. Despite his respect for strength, and his derision of weakness, he won't hesitate to step in to stop a larger dragon from intimidating (or outright bullying) a smaller one; protecting Pern is a large part of a dragon's genetic makeup, and Kikyoth has enough protection in him for an entire Wing. While absurd on the face of it, a middling-sized blue with whirling red eyes protecting a brown will oft be enough to make even the most bullyish bronze stand down. Of course, this won't stop him from bopping a smaller dragon - or even a human, though he'll be more gentle about it - upside the head himself, should the other annoy him enough. But that's different, because Kikyoth isn't being a bully when he does it. Right? Weyr of Origin: Arolos Abilites and weaknesses: As yet to be seen.
