Dy'enCharacter type: Dragonrider Appearance: Although Dy’en is generally not the person you would first notice in a crowd, he usually is noticed fairly quickly, and not just because of the knots on his shoulder. Yes, he is a bronzerider, but what usually draws people’s eyes is the way he walks, and even stands, with confidence. The confidence in who and what he is, that came as a result of Impressing Sharaketh. Standing at an even six feet and weighing in around 180 pounds, Dy’en, thanks to his earlier turns as a dolphineer apprentice and now his life as a rider, is extremely fit and looking at him leaves no doubt that he is strong. Of course, being a rider means he needs to be. He is tanned from being outside almost constantly, thanks to looking after Sharaketh, doing drills, swimming, and just relaxing. Personality: Everything Dy'en does is done with a sense of urgency and importance. He does everything he is assigned to do as soon as he can, and to many it seems like he rather work than play. They're not wrong, but they aren't right either. Dy'en plays with the same intensity as he works, making the most of every second of free time he has, but his parents have taught him, since he could walk, that if he wants anything he has to earn it. A lesson he has taken to heart. Dy'en is a very protective brother, as his younger sisters will testify, and a loyal friend. His family however comes before his friends and watch out if you try picking on them, because he will defend them. He doesn't hate anyone, but he doesn't like everyone either, if you want to be his friends you will have to prove yourself worthy. He respects those older than him, only if he thinks they deserve it, which includes anyone who rides a dragon. History: Family: Information about Dy'en's pets Pet Name: Tiuikar Pet Type: Blue Firelizard Appearance: Dreams on Fire egg - Somewhere behind the clouds and faint rainbows that cover this egg, there is a more sinister presence lurking... Around the edges of the clouds, one can make out the presence of the beginning of flames. Not yet hot enough to burn blue, the ever so slight encroachment of the worrisome orange on the serene, happy colors, is enough to make those that look at it wonder if the hatchling flit inside is having nightmares, or if it will have a fiery personality. Time will have to tell when this flit hatches. Personality: As a baby firelizard, Tiuikar will flit about with much randomness when out in the open. If asked what it is he's doing, he will inform you in many interesting images that he is fighting Thread. Once more grown up, this blue flit will begin to notice whenever smoke is present, and will begin to hunt for water, and any way to carry it, to try and put the fire out, even if there isn't one. During Fall, whenever Dy'en and Sharaketh join the wings and begin to fight with the rest of the wings, it will become obvious that Tiuikar wants nothing more than to help, and to do what his big cousin does, even going so far as to bring his own little scrap cloth filled with firestone fragments, even if this weighs him down immensely. All the hyperness he displays, is actually put to good use, for when it is made perfectly clear that he is not to follow his pet, Tiuikar will actively search for fires and do whatever he can to try and put them out, which might get him into some trouble with the kitchen workers. If he is unable to handle the fire himself, he will seek out a two-legged and alert them to the source of the danger. Information about Dy'en's dragon Dragon Name: Sharaketh Colour: Bronze Age: 5 Wing (Weyrling Group): CloudDancers Appearance: Egg: The Electric Ripples eggs is one of those eggs that seems to shout of 'look at me!' to quite a few viewers. It's really hard to tell what color this egg except that it's a dizzying, almost painful conglomeration of blues and greens of various hues. As soon as one decides that the egg is covered in green water with a violent explosion of ripples, another look seems to show the egg itself as a solid green mass that is plummeting into a pool of lake water and the splash turning into a eruption sure to cover anyone close enough to touch it. But the most worrisome part of this egg is that the colors are more reminiscent of a whole hurricane worth of lightening than a lake full of water. Any Candidate who gets close to this egg had best prepare themself in case this egg is as dangerous as it looks. Personality: Poor Sharaketh, he's not really a grumpy dragon in most cases, but he'll likely be teased a fair bit for his appearance. He's also easily startled and has a tendency to react quite loudly and dramatically when startled. Of course no dragon is truly violent except in extreme circumstances, but as he grows older he'll still make quite a scene bugling and carrying on just because he was too distracted to hear someone else come up behind him or because he was accidentally woken up. Weyr of Origin: Arolos Abilites and weaknesses: Surprisingly for any who have seen him on the ground, Sharaketh will prove to be remarkably fast in the air, though his agility will leave much to be desired. His stamina is higher than average. Together, all of which will make him a good thread fighter once he graduates and once he gets older and has more experience a worthy contender for any gold that rises, greens are another story. Chances are, because of his lack of agility, the number of greenflights he wins will be small.
