BasminCharacter type: Candidate Appearance: Basmin is tall and strong for his age - which is a good thing, as it's unlikely the CandidateMaster would have allowed him to Stand if he weren't, even if he *had* been Searched. He's strong enough to keep up with most of the Candidates physical activities, and so he's been allowed to stay. Personality: While his body might be big and strong enough to keep up with the older Candidates, or at least not get left too far behind, Basmin is still very young. He's grown up in Fort Weyr, and has delegated a lifetime of decision making to other people - his mother, his father, the Creche-workers, the Headwoman, the Headwoman's assistants. Always there has been someone to tell him what is right, and what is wrong, and isn't life easier that way? And if you ever truly aren't sure, you can always ask one of them and they'll tell him if it's right and most likely sort it out if it wasn't. History: Unlike many Forters, P'win actually took an interest in his son's upbringing. Oh, he didn't actually raise him himself, or take him to live with him - he's a *rider* after all, and there's no time for that in a rider's life! But he took the boy out, visited him in the Creche, talked to him now and then... and in return, Basmine hero-worships him. His Da is the most wonderful person in the world, and would never say anything wrong. Basmin is a candidate. His colour preference is Bronze, Brown, Blue, Green Read: All references to worlds and characters based on Anne McCaffrey's fiction are copyright© Anne McCaffrey 1967,2005, all rights reserved, and used by permission of the author.
