Forest Edge Hold Updated: 5-06
Lord Holder Fedor and his wife Marelyn had two lovely children during their reign at FEH. However when a much larger, more prestigious hold was his for the asking in the North, Lord Holder Fedor had to take the position. Leaving he called upon a cousin of his, Bournvrun, a seacrafter who by birthright was the next in line to take over the hold. Updated: 4-04
As the first year under Lord Holder Fedor comes to an end bringing spring, and storms, with it some sense of stability has returned to Forest Edge Hold. Despite the loss's suffered in the Tunnelsnake Raid, Forest Edge Hold is thriving, fields are being prepared for planting, the crafters have returned to there work producing there remarkable goods once more. The Lords very young wife, Lady Holder Marelyn, has birthed a bouncing baby boy, and heir. Slowly Forest Edge is returning to its former glory.
~~~~* Murder and mayhem just don't want to leave Forest Edge Hold alone! Lord Nikolai and Lady Catalina, along with their son have been murdered by an unruly group of up-risers in the Hold. See what happens when a Lord loses control of his people. Of course the Famine didn't help matters any. Hearing all those nasty rumors of the Lady Holder and her fancy dinners probably didn't help tame the mob's mood. What really sent them over the edge was Lord Nikolai's sudden irrational behavior when he found out his prize runners were butchered to feed the starving masses. Whipping the Beastcrafter in charge of the stables, wasn't a very good idea and those who had only been thinking about taking him from power were spurred into action and eliminated him altogether. After some serious help from a few dragonriders and a formidable Forester, the Hold was brought under control once more. Coming into power, a young Lady Stasia, the former Holder's daughter, took control. While she was busy getting things in order her Cousin Fedor appeared bringing a lot of help with him. Of course Fedor has ulterior motives- this was after all the Hold his father had always swore should have been his not his younger brothers! While Fedor woos and worms his way into the Lady Stasia's debt, he is slowly setting up his own little organized band of renegades in his little foothold on the South. While elsewhere a much bigger group is taking hold. Finding her heart in discontent and her position as Lady Holder vulnerable with out a strong husband, Lady Stasia turned Forest Edge over to her cousin's capable hands and returned to Arolos Weyr where she soon is wed to her childhood sweetheart. (Awww…) Fedor thrilled in the achievement of his goal quickly arranges his marriage to Marelyn, the youngest daughter of High Reaches hold. Though happy that his new wife is not only beautiful but also pleasant, respectful and properly meek, Fedor is surprised to find his heart captivated and his love reciprocated. Luckily the attack from the Tunnelsnakes was not as devastating as it had been in other holds, in no small part due to the Lord Holders extra precautions and guards. Despite there victory the losses were heavy and Forest Edge has found itself burdened with many orphans between the famine and the raid.
~~~~* Will the Southern Holders ever be masters of their own fates? You help decide. It's tough being a cotholder sometimes. Why don't you try it? Join us! Be a member of the upper classes, joyfully unaware of your underlings discontent - be an advisor to the Lord Holder, or a companion to his children. Be a drudge or cotholder, dependent on your Lord Holder, and having problem after problem due to his continuing distraction. Or be a Crafter, traditionally neutral, but possibly pushed into taking one side or the other as time goes on As well as for Arolos members, Forests Edge Hold is for those people who crave the excitement of Arolos plots but can't handle the amount of Arolos mail. If you want Arolos adrenaline at a slower pace, join us. You won't regret it.
