VerralName Pronounced: Ver-rall Appearance: Verral inherited her mother's black, tangle free hair and her father's dark brown eyes. She is the medium-dark tone which often accompanies both of these traits, and stands approximately 5'4" in height. In what sometimes creates confusion she often appears turns younger then her actual 19 due to how she dresses and grooms herself. Verral keeps her hair cut into bangs two fingers above her eyebrows, and the rest in a high ponytail that hangs to her shoulders. She also rarely wears the adult cut dresses her mother tries to force on her, preferring still the sturdy pants and vests of her youth. She has the build of an active young woman, though not necessarily of an athletic one. Her looks pretty but not outstanding, its her facial expressiveness and laughter that people remember her by. Personality: If you ask her parents, the first word they would use to describe Verral is curiousity. Having grown up in West Bay Hold the constant influx of traders with all their stories and experiences egged this yearning for knowledge on within Verral (it also made her a bit gullible sometimes. If someone dared her to find out whether feathered constructs would allow her to fly she might try it). She asks questions, experiments, and then starts over again. This leads to an interesting dichotomy in Verral's behavior. When she is focused on an experiment (Ex: How far away can a tunnelsnake smell food?) she can be detached from the people around her unless they also get involved too. Otherwise she is very friendly, and enjoys spending time with personalities as lively as her own. This extends to the bedroom for her as well, as she hit her teens she found she is just as open to new things sexually as she is with every other part of life. Several bad experiences have come from this, as hold life discourages such frank and non-monogamous behavior. She also has problems relating to people who don't think as she does and can be remarkable impatient, which has led to clashes with authority in the past. History: Her parents are retired traders who settled down in West Bay Hold to raise two children without the stress of constantly moving. These were Verral's older brother and sister, Alanon and Turmine, and a year later Verral was born. There was enough of an age gap between Verral and her siblings (9 and 7 turns) that while she loved hearing their (exaggerated) tales of being on the trade routes it was the other children of the hold who she played with. She spent her childhood romping through the lands around the hold, learning through trial and error which thorny bushes to avoid and how to tell the difference between an abandoned burrow and one where tunnelsnakes still lived. Once she got old enough to start understanding the world her older sister did get more involved in her life, and they remain close still. Her father recognizes Verral's personality as a younger version of his own, which inspired him to apprentice to a trader in the first place. He made sure she attended all the harper's school lessons along with teaching her the math he used in trading. Her mother is less encouraging, wanting her daughter to be able to settle down as her older sister did, but she puts up with it. Verral did learn the lessons her mother taught her about working in a hold: how to work efficiently in the kitchens or properly mend clothes, how to delegate jobs or take care of basic injuries. She herself assumed at some point she'd follow her parents example and leave on a trader's caravan so she never apprenticed to a craft. Romantically she's had a series of short affairs, a fling with a boy from a gather or secret meetings with one of the other hold girls. She is anything but ready to settle down, and she says so. Unfortunately the parents of these lovers did not appreciate Verral’s attentions to their offspring, and when she left there were many sighs of relief. The blue dragon who searched her was the first dragon she had ever seen up close, and despite her own mixed emotions her family had no reservations about her being searched. Information about Verral's dragon Dragon Name: Fioccath Colour: Green Age: 0 Wing (Weyrling Group): Direflame Appearance: Fioccath is a green who seems designed for others to fall in love with. Her small figure is perfectly proportioned, her colour a lovely deep, dark green. Verral hasn't decided whether its the color of shadows in a forest, or deep lake waters. Either way its very soothing. Personality: If Fioccath wanted to, she could very likely lead a very easy life between Falls, convincing males to do whatever she wanted with coy looks and hinting words.
