V'riuName Pronounced: vrr-REE-ooo Appearance: First Impressions of V'riu usually leave one asking if he is sick or starving; when one is 5’6” and 129 pounds, one isn’t exactly portly. V'riu did not get much nourishment as a young child due to frequent blizzards in the winter and harsh summers preventing much food growth. His mud-brown hair is surprisingly full and thick and falls in small waves around his narrow and bony face. V'riu has cold blue-gray eyes that are reminiscent of the ice hanging from his hold’s rafters. He often wears furs from creatures that he’s hunted and skinned himself from around his home. His favorite is a scarf made from a gray vulpine beast that had been attacking his family’s tiny wherry supply. The only truly distinguishing feature about V'riu is a small set of scars on his forehead and over his left eye that were acquired when hunting. The middle one is longer and thicker while the outer two range from mildly there to barely visible. Personality: V'riu is a very reserved young man who has been deemed as an aloof prick often as not and indeed that may be true. He is wary of trusting others due to the isolation experienced in childhood with the exception of his sister Arlen. He does not like to talk about her nor what happened to her. He will get surly as a warning and, if anyone pushes, angry. If left alone on the subject, he is pleasant enough. Anyone who is lucky or crafty enough to get into his good graces he trusts until their betrayal. Ever since his Impression, he’s been forced to open up more socially, if only to keep his dragon in check and repair any damages the blue does. History: V'riu was born Valeriu on 8.6.1.11 in a minor cothold looking to Telgar Weyr. He was the sixth child by his mother before his sister was born; his step-mother is currently up to seven. His parents had been considered antisocial in Telgar Hold itself and had decided to make their own small hold nearby. After proving himself a viable minor lord, V'riu’s father proceeded to keep his wife pregnant as often as he could. That meant that V'riu’s birth was risky enough by itself. When his father got his mother pregnant immediately afterwards and the resulting daughter, Arlen, was born a month early, the strain was far too much and their mother passed on. V'riu’s father quickly remarried and began the process again and in doing so lost the respect of most of his children. Due to his parents being looked down upon from the major Hold, no one really visited the cothold except to see that the occupants were still alive. Information about V'riu's pets Pet Name: Viorel Pet Type: Blue Firelizard Appearance: Viorel is a long blue flit with wings that look almost crimped on the edges. His hide is a rich and dark cobalt blue that mirrors flowers that grow in warmer climes. His eyeridges extend slightly farther than normal and almost seem to curl downwards slightly at their ends. Personality: In the mornings, Viorel is quiet and apt to sleep as long as he’s in shade. At the first beam of sunlight, however, he unfolds from his slumber to nearly bloom into life. Happy chirps and a songbird-esque voice greet the day and anyone near. Viorel is a very social flit in contrast to his pet’s reservedness, landing on many different shoulders and accepting food from any willing. Information about V'riu's dragon Dragon Name: Azeliath Colour: Blue Age: 0 Wing (Weyrling Group): Forgotten of Foreth (Off-Screen Hatching) Appearance: One would think this blue was slow-growing, but instead he's just small. Standing next to his siblings, he's oh so noticeably shorter even amongst the blues. He may end up teased for it depending on their own personalities, and he'll always be frustrated over his, erm, shortcomings. He's a dizzying array of blues from bright and vivid splotches to dark and svelte swathes. His tail and head are quite pale with the exception of the tip of his muzzle. Personality: Inconvenient but somewhat pretty in his own way, Azeliath will very swiftly tire of being told that there are things that he simply can't do as a blue. He can't have as much food as the bronzes do, he can't fly or flame as long as they do, and he certainly can't lead like they do in a Weyrleader capacity. Every time he's told that he "can't" do something, Azeliath will launch into a tantrum that Valeriu needs to stem before an adult dragon sees fit to interfere. He'll always try to act like a big important dragon, but he'll absolutely adore talking to firelizards and even whers to encourage them that they're just as important as he is. He will wave off any rebuking by his superiors for preferring to keep the company of them instead of dragons. Weyr of Origin: Arolos Abilites and weaknesses: He can't sustain a flame for long, but he can expel extremely hot fireballs that last for just a few seconds. Clearly destined to be a spot-flamer in Fall, his rapid consumption of energy unfortunately means that he can't last a full fall. Telling him that he can't will incite a tantrum, but if he's worn down enough, it may end soon.
