SemakCharacter type: Crafter Appearance: His hair battled his hereditary baldness from the forties, but the war is over, and the battlefield belongs to the enemy. His hair, once auburn but now steel grey, is still thick around the back and sides, but the hairline is quite a ways back, and, to reduce the embarrassment, Semak regularly has his hair trimmed extremely close to his head. Deep lines crease his forehead as well as the sides of his mouth, and he sports a jowl. The sharpness of his eyes are emphasized by his brows, giving him a fierce look of authority, and his thin lips are almost always frowning nowadays. In his youth, he was a good looking man, but those days of glory have passed; he is, by no means, an ugly old man, but he cannot be called handsome anymore. Age has shrunk him a few inches, but he was tall as a youth, and even now stands at a lofty height of 5'11". His build is solid; much of what used to be strong muscle has softened into flab, but he's stronger than he looks, although he's definitely not as fast as he used to be. There is a respectable look to him, a stern and unyeilding set, and also a grouchy air about him. Personality: Oh, when he was young, he was quite the charmer, handsome and well liked. But, as with many such people, with age came change. The looks slowly faded, and though he didn't particularly care about it, it was still a startling change in how other people treated him. However, when his bones began to twinge in pain during the winters, Semak became gruffer; with the passing of each winter, he became just a tad more ill tempered. When arthritis settled in, Semak became fully bitter and angry, reduced to nothing more than a useless old man, when all his life, he'd been a crafter, a creator, an artist. Inwardly, Semak yearns for those days again, when his hands used to create, before his body rebelled against his spirit. History: His mother, Onaylle, was a fair-haired Journeywoman Harper. His father, Samater, was a dark-haired Woodcrafter nearly twice her age. They met through a friend when Onaylle was posted at Crom, where Samater had set up his own modest business, creating and repairing furniture for the cotholders and other Hold folks. Semak was the eldest of five children, named after the friend that introduced Samater and Onaylle and had later kicked them into getting espoused. A bright, handsome child, Semak charmed his way out of trouble more than once, with a cherubic smile and a flashing of his dimples. He wasn't a malicious boy, or even a michievous one; just a curious, crafty lad who could figure out a way into, but not always out of, anything. Information about Semak's pets Pet Name: Keely (deceased) Pet Type: Firelizard Appearance: A light, tan colored brown, with darker chocolate brown making swirls all over him. He can curl up in a pile of chopped wood and blend right in. A small thing, there are even some blues that come close to his size, though he's not small enough that they're bigger. Personality: Quiet, patient, and unobtrusively loving and loyal. A soothing balm to his master's bitter soul, Keely is perhaps the only one that witnesses Semak's pleasant and charming side nowdays. The gentle brown is always near his master, never wandering off, simply content to keep the old man company.
