M'rakCharacter type: Dragonrider Appearance: M'rak is 5 feet 9 in height and of stocky build. He has dark brown hair sprinkled at the front with grey, and a greying moustache which was ginger in his younger days. He has hazel eyes and rather thin lips, and can't move his knees easily all the time because of Thread scarring. He tends to wear dark somber colours and looks more serious than he is. He's very fair-skinned and burns easily in the sun. Personality: M'rak is quick-witted and can be sarcastic, and always speaks his mind. He's relatively easy-going and it takes a long time for him to lose his temper. He's kind, generous and caring but won't talk about his feelings easily. He was hurt badly by the departure of his previous weyrmate and built a psychological wall around himself to protect his feelings and to keep away from emotional attachments. Once in a relationship though he gives it his all and is steadfastly loyal and faithful. He thought he would never get over his weyrmate's leaving but astonished himself with how quickly he fell in love again. History: M'rak is the youngest of 3, with an older brother and sister. He grew up near Telgar Hold and was just about to graduate to journeyman Harper when he was Searched. Telgar reclaimed him at that point and he Impressed Northeath at his second time of Standing, age 20. As he Impressed during the last Interval he and Northeath had plenty of time to mature together before they were required to fly Fall. During this time he took a permanent weyrmate, a non-rider, with whom he had 3 children. The children were fostered at his sister's hold from when the eldest was five turns old, as two turns before the start of the Pass M'rak's weyrmate left him for someone else and he hasn't seen her since. This left him devastated and very bitter. Information about M'rak's pets Pet Name: Eek Pet Type: Feline Appearance: Eek is a fairly young cat, just over a turn old. He has long silky fur of a light buttery cream colour which rarely tangles, and bright blue eyes. There are slight stripy markings on his tail which become more pronounced during the winter months. Personality: Eek's lazy but often affectionate, as long as you approach him and don't expect him to come to you. Like most felines he has a typically aloof attitude towards a lot of people but as he stays in M'rak's weyr it goes unnoticed. He was especially affectionate towards M'rak's daughter but has become distant towards her of late as she spent more time in the Candidate barracks. He has a grudging respect for Linsa but it doesn't extend to paying her much attention. Information about M'rak's dragon Dragon Name: Northeath Colour: Brown Age: 26 Wing (Weyrling Group): Wind-dance Fury Appearance: Northeath is a dark oak brown, with a manila coloured belly and dark wings. He has two heavy scars from Thread across either side of his neck, and a wingtip scar. The scar tissue has grown back as a different colour to the rest of Northeath's upper hide as it's much lighter, more of a tan colour. Northeath is heavily built and has plenty of stamina although he's a bit lacking in the agility department. He's a fast flyer for his size and his wings are generally broader than other browns. Personality: Northeath is very laid-back until something catches his interest, whether it be a person or a conversation. Then he'll pursue his opinion until it's either confirmed or refuted, which makes for some slight exasperation from his rider. He likes to have the last word in a discussion and if his rider is later found to be wrong there's a slight element of "I told you so". He will defend his rider's point of view to anyone, but between themselves he might be gently critical but rarely derisive. Weyr of Origin: Telgar Abilites and weaknesses: Northeath has learned the art of spirited discussions from his rider and enjoys matching wits with other dragons, to make them think. His flying abilities are good enough but they don't make him stand out from the others. He has a tendency to carry a point too far though which his weyrmate finds irritating. He usually takes it upon himself to know what's best for his rider.
