K'tenCharacter type: Dragonrider Appearance: K'ten stands at a little over 6 feet, with broad shoulders and a shock of sandy-brown hair that he generally keeps tied back out of his face. There is however, a lock too short to be pulled back that is forever falling into his clear, grey-blue eyes. He keeps himself clean-shaven most of the time, though has been known to skip a day sometimes. Kal is muscular, being the son of a trader and used to heavy work as well as the weight of a trader's sword in defense of the caravans. He is sometimes jokingly called the burdenbeast of the family due to his strength and willingness to work hard. His skin is already darkly tanned and he does not burn easily, thanks to endless Turns under the sun, though his general darker complexion and muted characteristic features suggest possible Roma descent. Personality: He is good-natured and even-tempered with a ready sense of humor, but K'ten keeps an eye to justice. He does not have a dishonest bone in his body and is quick to stand up for someone he believes has been wronged, though this has been known to get him into trouble sometimes. He is a quick study and eager to learn, but his knowledge is limited to only what his father thinks a trader needs to know and the old ballads insisted upon by the Harpers. Thanks to life on the road, has learned to repair and mend almost anything he sets his hand to, a "MacGyver" of sorts, restoring functionality even if his methods are a bit unorthodox at times. History: K'ten was born and raised on the road, choking in the dust of huge wagons, and learned to walk on the pitching deck of a trading ship. His life has been one of making deliveries between holds, weyrs, and helping to sell their wares from time to time at Gathers. He learned the teaching ballads from the harpers at holds they stopped at for longer periods of time as well as his grandmother, a retired master Harper. His father and grandfather both instilled a great respect for dragonriders in the boy and though he has been curried to take on the family trading business, Kal had, like most younglings, always wanted to be Searched as worthy to stand for Impression. Information about K'ten's dragon Dragon Name: Scath Colour: Blue Age: 6 Wing (Weyrling Group): Thunder Flame Appearance: Scath is mostly an ocean-blue coloured dragon, starting with a deep green blue on his rump and blending gently to a paler murky blue round his snout. There is a slight iridescence to his hide of a purple hue that is only visible in the moonlight or starlight, a time when his best and most redeeming qualities seem to be apparent. His eyes are a little small for his size and are normally a dark colour, usually watching you closely. There is however nearly always a look of mirth in them that portrays his naturally jovial character. Personality: He is a cheerful character and will be able to lighten most situations, especially parties. He will happily croon tunes with his fellow dragons and flits along the ridge at twilight, and always feels the most exhilarated during flights under the light of the stars. He much prefers the cool climate of the night time to the heat of the day on the Arolos sands, and would rather swim by night given the choice. But regardless of this he is quite relaxed in his attitude to life, and has a very open minded philosophy. He might question what others say fascinated to understand their view, but if they have a different opinion to him that is their choice. He will welcome any as a friend, even the least liked dragons, humans, flits and whers. He is an easy-going type, more than ready to simply enjoy a beautiful sunset or just hang out with his friends, his inherent love of music manifesting at every moment in either the rythmic flick of his tail to the low crooning hum he tends toward when feeling any emotion more strongly than usual. Weyr of Origin: Arolos Abilites and weaknesses: Scath, while not lazy, is a bit inclined to take things at his own pace rather than the pace of the weyr around him. This means that K'ten has had to learn a few methods of bribing and cajoling to get him up and awake enough for classes at times. He doesn't like early morning or even midday as much as he likes the cooler evenings and nights at Arolos, much preferring stargazing to the glaring of the sun.
