Appearance: Ayythshen is very attractive. He is of medium height and build, about five feet, eleven inches tall and one hundred sixty pounds. He is muscular, but not overly bulky. He has very little body hair, and his hair is dark blond, almost brown, though the sun at Igen often bleaches highlights into it. He is almost always smiling, and his smile is one of the most charming things about him because his teeth are near-perfectly straight. His eyes are a silvery greyish color - very close to blue, but not quite. They have a look about them such that one might not be surprised should they reflect light in the dark.

Personality: Ayythshen is a by no means a selfless person, though he has a very strong sense of duty. He feels that every person should give or received what they owe or deserve. He is very disdainful of any who would leech off of others without paying back what they take. He will gladly work for anyone who will pay him what he deserves, and he feels it his duty to do so. He is extremely devoted to a meritocratic system of government and ranking - in effect, he believes that those who are best at their job should be the ones dictating how others do that job. For this reason, he is very attached to the Crafters' system of ranking and skeptical of the ranking system of the Weyr, and even sometimes the Hold.

When he is off duty, Ayythshen enjoys spending time with friends. He is very loyal to those who he calls friends and even more fiercely loyal to any he might call a lover. He has never really experienced what he would call true love, but he knows, or at least believes, that when he finds it, he will know it, and he will cherish it. He is extremely trustworthy of his friends until they prove themselves unworthy of that trust, in which case they are likely to be considered no longer his friend. He may give his closer friends a second chance, but if that greater trust is then betrayed, he will hold them even more strongly accountable for their betrayal and they will most certainly no longer be his friend.

Ayythshen was born at Igen Hold. His mother was a drudge that worked in the kitchens and scullory at the tanner crafthall, and his father was a journeyman tanner. Rokshen initiated the relationship with Kerys, who was very beautiful. Not long after Kerys found herself to be with child, Rokshen was reassigned to High Reaches Weyr to craft riding gear, boots, vests, and the like. Kerys told Rokshen of the baby, though he was not interested in bringing Kerys along to the weyr with him, as he was only interested in her for her looks, and not for a long-term relationship.

When Ayythshen was born, his Kerys moved with him to Igen Hold. He grew up believing that his father was dead and that he was a wonderful man and an excellent tanner. Though he was truly a great crafter, he was hardly a scrupulous man to look up to. Kerys instilled in Ayythshen a strong sense of duty, honor, and chivalry, though as he grew up, Ayythshen found that he was not attracted to women like the other boys were. He found himself looking at the other boys like the other boys looked at women. When he was old enough, he left for the Tanner crafthall to apprentice and be like his father. There were few left there who really knew his father well, though he did learn that he was not truly dead. He never asked his mother why she lied to him, but he never fully trusted her again. He decided that when he walked the tables that he would learn where his father was stationed and then ask to be stationed there as well. Knowing that his father's death had been a lie, he felt the need to learn whether the other stories about his were false as well.

Not very many turns before he should have walked the tables, he was searched by a rider from Fort Weyr while selling wares at a Gather with his master at Fort Hold, most likely for his looks. His duty required that he serve as a dragonrider if he were called to do so. To protect Pern from Thread would indeed be the highest honor he could achieve. His desire to be like his father had waned the more he learned about the man. Ayythshen's master begrudgingly allowed him to stay behind at the weyr once the Gather was over.

Ay'shen was recruited into the Resistance by a handler who knew very well how to manipulate his sense of honor and duty when he overheard of Ohselth's strange ability to repeat verbatim things he heard spoken. He became a spy who reported on anything Ohselth overheard from a ranker, such as when they might be alone and vulnerable. Ay'shen justified this to himself as did many – he was only targeting those who had escaped justice in order to bring them to justice.

Ay'shen was not a part of the Resistance's decision-making process, and knowing that he had friends among the brown- and bronzeriders, they wisely kept the coup at Fort from him. Ohselth, however, overheard of the plot just before it was to be carried out, and Ay'shen warned as many of his brown- and bronzeriding friends as he could before he had to flee for his own life.

Ay'shen fled to Arolos and turned himself in to the weyrleadership. He confessed to everything he had done and accepted a punishment of a Turn under weyr-arrest and five Turns of strict probation with leniency for his cooperation – and for saving a few lives.

Although small for a blue, Ohselth is perfectly formed from snout to tail's tip. Fairly equal to the size of a large green, his wings are wide but the wingsails narrow and he has a long, narrow tail. His hide is a light steel blue color, very close to the color of Ay'shen's eyes, especially as one looks down from the head, the hide growing darker and grayer along the legs and under his tail. Cadet blue stripes run back from his wingjoints over his wingsails, his claws, muzzle, and the end of his tail, that makes him appear faster in the air than he is.

Personality: Although the ranking dragons won't like it, Ohselth is something of a sponge. He is completely absorbed in Ay'shen and wants to emulate him as closely as possible. Because of this, he has absorbed many of Ay'shen's attitudes. In addition to this, he is extremely curious and asks questions about nearly everything, sometimes to Ay'shen's dismay,
as his constant questions tend to make it hard to concentrate elsewhere. Ohselth is also very naturally friendly and very much wants
to befriend each of his clutchmates, and then the whole weyr!

Because of his friendliness, he'll run afoul of the bronzes especially. They'll continually come down on him and it's up to Ay'shen to keep the blue from buckling under the pressure. Ohselth will try his hardest to remember every word bespoke, every movement made, every secret revealed. And if he ever came to the resistance's attention, he could be used quite easily to gather information.
